Aaron Frazer veröffentlicht Debüt-Album “Introducing…” // Full Streams
Finger hoch, wer die band Durand Jones & The Indications kennt!? Okay. Dann kennt Ihr ja vielleicht auch den Sänger Aaron Frazer, dessen Song “Bad News” einer der besten des letzten Jahres war, hat es auch noch in die Marbs Playlist 2020 geschafft.. Ratet mal was: diese Nummer gibt es zusammen mit 11 Weiteren ab heute auf einem Album, hier ist “Introducing…”. Produziert wurde das ganze von Dan Auerbach von den Black Keys, selbstverständlich im legendären Studio in Nashville. Für mich als großer Fan von 70ies Soul, Disco & Gospel ist das hier das (bisher) größte, musikalische Highlight des noch so jungen Jahres.
“With his sharp quiff and gentle falsetto, Frazer continues to trade in the throwback stylings of his other band, though his sound is lighter, less muscular, touching on doo-wop and Philly soul. Girl on the Phone is a great pop song with a strong Fifties feel, with its simple piano chords and casual horns. On Over You he picks up the pace for a racing rhythm that could set fire to a Northern soul night.”
