„The Camargue“ – Vibrant Mural by French Street Artist MAYE in Paris // France

Locals und Besucher von Paris durften sich zuletzt an imposanten Murals von Urban Art-Schwergewichten wie Shepard Fairey, Bordalo II, Conor Harrington oder D*Face erfreuen. Die Artists durften sich erst kürzlich im 13. Arrondissement der französischen Hauptstadt großflächig austoben. Nach wie vor halten wir bekanntlich aber auch die Augen sehr weit offen, um Euch neben den Superstars des Street Art-Kosmos, an dieser Stelle auch Künstler vorzustellen zu können, welche bisher noch nicht auf WHUDAT stattfanden. Der Franzose MAYE ist solch ein Künstler, der sich ebenfalls kürzlich mit einem herrlichen Mural in Paris verewigte. In unmittelbarer Nähe zum Piece von Ikone Shepard Fairey befindet sich seit neustem das farbgewaltige Wallart-Piece „The Camargue“ von MAYE am Vincent Auriol-Boulevard. Inspiration zu seinem extrem detailliert daherkommenden Artwork fand der Künstler unter anderem bei den Rosa Flamingos des Naturpark Camargue in der französischen Region Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur. French artist MAYE has just finished its first fresco in Paris as part of the Street Art 13 project. From this building on 131 boulevard Vincent Auriol, the artist takes us to his region: the Camargue. The artist’s works are always inspired by his memories. As usual, no element is left to chance and every detail of the work is at the service of its narration. Here, the artist wanted to bring us the sun of his native South, and immerse ourselves in the culture of the Camargue. Its background, melon color, evokes this fruit typical of Southern France. The viewer discover a slender and graceful person riding a pink flamingo. It is a guard, a Camargue rider, dressed in traditional clothing with sandals. He holds in his right hand a trident, which usually allows the rider to keep the bulls in the rows. Maye replaces the guardian’s horse with a humorous pink flamingo.
