Isabelle Brown veröffentlicht „In Your Head“ Mixtape // Full Streams
Dann lasst uns die neue Woche doch mal mit etwas frischem Soul, Funk, RnB und HipHop beginnen: hier ist Isabelle Brown, 17jährige (!!!) Singer/Songwriterin aus Brighton mit ihren neuen Mixtape „In Your Head“. Ich habe vorher noch nicht von Ihr gehört, aber im letzten Jahr hat Isabelle Brown (hier bei IG) eine EP namens „03“ veröffentlicht, mit welcher sie dann ausverkaufte Hometown Headline Shows in London und Brighton gespielt hat. Sie ist bereits als Supporting Act für Lauryn Hill, Brittany Howard, Jamila Woods, Oscar Jerome und den Black Pumas auf Tour gegangen und hat jetzt gerade ihr neues Mixtape „In Your Head“ veröffentlicht. Gefällt mir ausgesprochen gut, gerade weil auch inhaltlich so einiges geboten wird, es geht um Themen wie das „Black Lives Matter“ oder das „Me Too“ Movement, um die Ungerechtigkeit auf der Welt und wie sie mit diesen Dingen umgeht. Es gibt 8 Tracks, ein Feature von Coops und ihr solltet Euch das unbedingt anhören – unser Mucke-Tipp des Tages.
„The mixtape has been like a diary for me because it includes songs written in response to some personal events and relationships I’ve had during the last couple of years. There was one friendship in particular, which was very important to me, that faded for a while and I felt really sad about it. Strangely, over the last couple of months, that friendship has got back on track, which I’m happy to report, but I grew a lot during the dark times and have learnt to be a lot more self-reliant.“ – Isabelle Brown
