“Set in the Street” – Artists Use Found Items To Stage Elaborate Scenography On NYC Streets (10 Pictures)

Der in New York ansässige Art Director und Fotograf Justin Bettman lichtet in seinem Job überwiegend Menschen für namenhafte Auftraggeber wie z.B. Coca Cola, Honda, IBM, Red Bull Music oder das Forbes Magazine ab. Für sein privates Foto/Street Art-Projekt “Set in the Street” holte sich der junge Mann Unterstützung von der aus Istanbul stammenden und mittlerweile ebenfalls in Brooklyn lebenden Stylistin Gözde Eker. Gemeinsam durchkämmten die beiden kreativen Künstler die Straßen ihrer Stadt, auf der Suche nach entsorgten Möbeln und Inneneinrichtungs-Accessoires, um anschließend ganze Wohn-, Schlaf, Ess- und Badezimmer in den Straßen des Big Apple zu arrangieren. Die beeindruckend detailreichen Ergebnisse dieser Serie, welche aus dem richtigen Winkel betrachtet, tatsächlich wie Szenen aus realen Wohnräumen New Yorker Locals wirken, gibt’s direkt hier unten:

On any given day, the streets of new york city are lined with a varied assortment of discarded domestic items, used books, plants, toys and tiles. For local photographer Justin Bettman and brooklyn-based prop stylist Gozde Eker, these seemingly random objects became a creative medium in the materialization of elaborate scenes, crafted entirely from unwanted materials they found abandoned on the sidewalks. ‘Set in the Street‘ is an ongoing art project and has since seen the realization of four settings in new york, and one in california. Bedrooms, bathrooms and living rooms are built with wallpaper, tables, posters and assorted props, each which seek to tell the story of the family, couple or single inhabitants that are meant to reside in the spaces.
