Ich weiß, was Ihr jetzt denkt und ich gebe zu: auch ich habe bei jedem Bild erneut gedacht, dass das nicht angehen kann. Das kann nicht alles Holz sein! Der alte Wohnzimmerschrank meiner Eltern war aus Holz, DAS hier ist kein Holz. Ist es aber. Tom Eckert heisst der Nerd, der diese Skultpuren hier alle per Hand herstellt, er schnitzt, baut, malt und laminiert seine Werke, bis sie schließlich wie hier auf den Bildern aussehen. Ursprünglich kommt er vom Malen und Zeichnen, dort natürlich auch bereits aus dem “Realism”, also dem hyperrealistischen Stil. Wer das jetzt immer noch nicht glaubt, der möge sich bitte ganz unten den Clip ansehen. It’s all wood:
“By tradition, cloth has been widely used to conceal and shroud objects in practices ranging from advertising to church rituals. Covered forms are often more evocative – with a sense of mystery absent from the uncovered object by itself… ‘Cloth‘ carved of wood has much different structural qualities than real cloth. When this idea is applied to my compositions (floating book, floating cards, floating rock) a sense of the impossible happens – for me, magic.”

ich sage es ja immer wieder, Holz ist mehr als ein Brett, Holz ist Knoff How. Aber das was du da gefunden hast ist schon die sehr hohe Kunst des Desgin mit Holz ;)
