Vince Staples veröffentlicht neues self-titled Album “Vince Staples” + “Are You With That” Video

Und da haben wir es dann auch, das vierte Studioalbum von Vince Staples, welches genau so heisst wie er. Vinnie ist ein lieber Freund hier auf WHUDAT, wir begleiten seine Karriere seit Beginn an, “Summertime ’06” war sein erstes Album, wir hatten ihn aber schon vorher auf dem Schirm. Die “Big Fish Theory” aus 2017 war seit zweites Album, ein Jahr später kam dann noch “FM!” heraus und seitdem warten wir auf ein neues full length project – und hier habt ihrs! Was ist in der Zwischenzeit passiert, Herr Staples?

“I was having a lot of conversations with a lot of people around me, and people always said, ‘Oh, you used to always say these stories and this and that, and I don’t notice much about these specific things. Why don’t you put it into the music?’ And it’ll be stuff that has been in songs for years. And then I realize… the backdrop wasn’t right for certain things I was saying or vice versa. So I feel like this is kind of very descript and distinct… not just where I come from, it’s not a bunch of glory stories or things like that, I guess it’s just more personal.” – Vince Staples

Das gesamte Projekt wurde von dem verrückten und sehr guten Producer Kenny Beats (bitte ahnt seine sehr erfolgreiche Youtube-Show “The Cave”, aus der wir hier unten noch ein Vince Staples-Freestyle als Special für euch haben!) produziert, es gibt 10 Tracks und ein Feature von Foushee. Seit heute gibt es auch ein offizielles Video zum Opener “Are You With That” (das Lyric Video hatten wir bereits hier) und in diesem Jahr soll noch ein weiterer Longplayer von Vince zusammen mit Ramona Park Broke My Heart erscheinen – stick around!
