„THIS GAME WE PLAY“ – New Pictures of Basketball Hoops Across New York City by Franck Bohbot
Die großartigen Fotoserien des französischen Fotografen Franck Bohbot haben wir an dieser Stelle mittlerweile mehrfach präsentiert (Features). Vor etwa drei Jahren war “THIS GAME WE PLAY” eines der ersten Sets, mit welchem uns Bohbot schwer begeistern konnte. Kurz nachdem der gute Mann seinen Wohnsitz in 2013 von Paris nach New York City verlegte, nahm er bekanntlich die Sportplätze i.S. die Basketball-Courts seiner neuen Heimat genauer unter die Lupe bzw. vor seine Linse. Wie sich die entsprechenden Korbanlagen der unterschiedlichen New Yorker Gemeinden so darstellen, führte Bohbot uns auf sehr ästhetische Weise vor Augen. Heute haben wir ein kleines Update aus der fortlaufenden Reihe für Euch. Peep Game, Ballers:
„This Game We Play“ is an ongoing series started by French photographer Franck Bohbot when he first moved to New York City. Just about every neighborhood throughout the city has at least one community basketball hoop where neighbors and friends can meet to compete in a friendly game or just shoot around for fun. This observational project highlights the single hoop structures that are placed directly within different urban environments and serve as a central point for local gatherings.
