Dann wollen wir das neue Jahr doch einfach mal mit etwas entspannt jazzigem Lofi HipHop aus Australien beginnen, hier ist Stan Forebee (feat) mit seiner neuen EP “Second Home”. Der Künstler kommt ursprünglich aus Holland, wo er in einer sehr musikalischen Familie aufwuchs und schon sehr früh Klavierspielen lernte. Er landete dadurch sehr schnell beim Jazz und von dort aus erfuhr er seine Liebe für HipHop und Neo-Soul und all das findet sich in seiner Musik auch immer wieder. Sein letztes Projekt “Orange” hatten wir im Juni 2019 hier, angefangen hat der Mann übrigens unter dem Namen Beats-O-Freen, was aber auch schon über 5 Jahre her ist. “The vibe is laid-back and melodic, as “Flying Dew” opens the Second Home EP with a filtered piano floating into a pensive beat concoction. A cool jazzy bass line is here to get the heads nodding. “Two Faces” follows with an especially catchy shuffle, adding muted guitar riffs and electric piano runs. “Dilladong” transmits its influence in its title, with tremelo’ed e-piano and plucky synth melodies playing over a chill boom-bap beat. The title track closes it out the EP in a dreamy style — it’s got that reassuring warmth of arriving after long travels. A second home is still a home, and it feels so good.”
