Portraits made of Paint in Bubble Wrap by Bradley Hart (13 Pictures)

Das hier ist schon wieder so überepisch, ich finde kaum Worte: hier haben wir ein paar Portrait-Bilder von Bradley Hart, der er aus Luftpolsterfolie, dezzen Zellen er einzeln und händisch mit Acrylfarbe in verschiendensten Farbtönen befüllt. Die Idee dazu kam ihm, als er ein Paket auspackte und die Luftpolsterfolie, die gemeinhin als Verpackungs-/Füllmaterial genutzt wird, in den Händen hielt. Unten haben wir noch 4 Behind-the-scenes-Bilder, anhand welcher Ihr Euch ungefähr ein Bild davon machen könnt, was für ein aufwändiger Prozess es ist, solche Artworks anzufertigen. Das letzte Portrait (#8) seht Ihr da auch noch einmal in progress. Wer gerade in New York ist, kann sich die Bilder noch bis zum 29.03. im Rahmen seiner ersten Einzelausstellung in der Gallery Nine5 ansehen.

“On the one hand, the bubble refers to dots or pixels, the building blocks of the technological world that surrounds us,” states the gallery. “Pixels on computer screens store our memories with social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. The process of injecting bubble wrap with paint in order to create one coherent picture, references pixilation as a combination of 1’s and 0’s that result in an image for us to consume. On the other hand, when a likeness of a loved one is injected into bubble wrap, the material’s inherent purpose is underscored – an image is being preserved as a memory in an object that is utilized for protection and safeguarding.”
