Es ist schon beachtlich, was da aktuell so alles an R&B und Soul-Musik aus UK kommt, meine sehr verehrten Damen und Herren – Pip Millet. Nach den Children Of Zeus, Lynda Dawn oder Jorja Smith – da kommt aktuell jede Menge gute Musik her. Und auch bei Pip Millet habe ich mich zunächst gewundert, dass es sich hier um eine europäische Nachbarin handelt, aber es ist so. Nach der “Do Well”-EP aus dem letzten Jahr kommt hier nun die “Lost In June” EP, 8 fantastische Tunes und ich liebe jeden Einzelnen. Hört rein – unser Mucke-Tipp des Tages:

“This is the first stand-out UK R&B and Soul I have heard this year. In fact just an EP, this could easily be an LP. The concept and themes throughout are concise and consistent, are Pip’s voice is heavenly yet grounded on earth. I admire that this wasn’t bloated with unrelated tracks to make it a full length EP – the ideas are executed well, and any filler would have stood out. Really recommend sitting down and giving this a go.”
