Soll noch diesen Sommer fertiggestellt werden: das “Mercedes House” in Midtown Manhattan/New York, mit 865 einzelnen Wohneinheiten, zur Miete und zum Verkauf. Es bietet eine herrliche Aussicht auf den De Witt Clinton Park und auf den Hudson River, das Herausragendste ist aber wohl die Architektur, die vom sechsten Stock ganze 24 einzelne Wohneinheiten mit Dachterassen sprialförmig bis zum 30sten Stock verlaufen lässt. Der gesamte Komplex bietet mehr als 120.000qm Wohnfläche, designt wurde das Ganze von den Architekten “Ten Arquitectos”, die dort auch gleich 200 Parkbereiche und einen 5.100qm großen Auto-Showroom im Erdgeschoss berücksichtigt haben. Die Lage erlaubt eine gute Sonnendurchflutung in sämtlichen Wohneinheiten und wenn man sich die Apartments mal von innen ansieht (Bilder 10+11): keine Ahnung, ob man ab Sommer in Manhattan etwas Fresheres bekommen kann. Overlooking De Witt Clinton Park and the Hudson River, this terraced mixed-use building is programmed to be up and running this summer. Spreading over 1.3 million square feet, the building designed by Ten Arquitectos also features a public garden, sun deck, and mirrored courtyard. Two hundred parking spaces and a 55,000 square-foot auto showroom on ground floor reminds us of the building’s name.”
