Sehr schönes, immer noch laufendes Fotoprojekt von Joel Ross, welches unter dem Namen “Please Chase Me” aus Textinstallationen im öffentlichen Raum besteht. Die Straßenschilder werden somit zu einer temporären Ausstellung, welche vor allem von unwissenden Reisenden entlang der Straßen wahr genommen werden. Die Aussagen stammen meist von Werbetafeln, Zeitungen, T-Shirts oder Poster, die dann wiederum von Ross neuinterpretiert werden. Leider haben die Schilder meist nur eine Lebensdauer von 24 Stunden, ehe sie von der Polizei beschlagnahmt und entfernt werden.

“The majority of the work by American artist Joel Ross involves text installations in public spaces. Please Chase Meis an ongoing series in which Ross produces pieces that mimic roadside signage and places them along various roads, from single-lane farm roads to major highways.The installations are not sanctioned by anyone and so they do not last very long. Ross says, “The signs are left on site until they are removed by authorities or by citizens. Most of the signs are removed within 24 hours. A series of photographs of these installations and related works on paper become a record of these events as well as the primary point of engagement with their second audience, the art-going public.”
