“Rock On To The Break Of Dawn” – Fantastisches Doppel-Mural der Street Artists Os Gemeos in NYC

Bereits seit Jahren begeistern uns, die für ihren herrlichen Comic-alike Graffiti-Style bekannten Brüder „Os Gemeos“ (z.dt. = Die Zwillinge), mit ihren farbenfrohen Mural-Artworks. Zuletzt durften wir sogar ein Stück Wallart vom wohl populärsten Zwillingspaar der Urban Art in deutschen Landen bestaunen. Im Rahmen des SCALE Wall Art-Festivals entstand bekanntlich ein sehenswertes Piece der Brüder aus São Paulo in München. In New York City fertigen die Os Gemeos kürzlich mit “Rock On To The Break Of Dawn” ein ganz besonderes Doppel-Piece, welches eindeutig als Hommage an die Hip Hop-Kultur zu verstehen ist. Bereits 2015 brachten die Künstler mit ihrem “Giant Oldschool B-Boy“-Mural, ihre Liebe zu besagter Kultur im Big Apple zum Ausdruck. Im Rahmen ihres neusten Streichs stellen die Street Art-Twins, zwei Hip Hop-Crews auf massiven Wänden gegenüber. The Pandolfo brothers have returned to the big apple in a big way: with a double mural intervention. The two side walls on 14th Street were exposed to the elements after a building demolition served the twins well for the execution of two interventions united by an confrontational dialogue. The old school references are more and more present with each consecutive Os Gemeos mural work and this time, they took advantage of the two wall situation to pay homage to the break dancing battles that took place on the streets and in the store fronts of New York in the 80s. Guetto blasters, futuristic sun glasses, tracksuits, a Dondi tribute and a surprise painted denim jacket feature by Todd James are a few of the references that you’ll notice in this double composition. Once again, the universally most famous graffiti painting twins have come out at the top of the top.
