“La Cuccagna” – New Massive Mural by Street Artist Blu in Campobasso // Italy

Die farbenfrohen und extrem detaillierten Wallart-Pieces des italienischen Künstlers Blu haben wir in den letzten Jahren an dieser Stelle immer wieder präsentiert. Das letzte Feature des Street Artists aus Bologna ist allerdings auch schon wieder eine ganze Weile her, was sich heute ändern soll. Der gute Blu ist bekanntlich seit Mitte der 1990er Jahre in der internationalen Urban Art-Szene aktiv. Seine sozialkritischen Murals kommen in der Regel episch ausladend daher und lassen sich mittlerweile in mehreren europäischen Ländern, im Westjordanland und in Nord-, Mittel- und Südamerika bestaunen. Der neuste Streich von Blu enstand kürzlich in seiner italienischen Heimat unter der Titel „La Cuccagna“. Wie gewohnt sprengt der gute Blu auch hier wieder sämtliche Dimensionen und lässt kein gutes Haar an unserer modernen Gesellschaft. Einige Eindrücke der gigantischen Frabexplosion, welche der gute Mann in der Hauptstadt der italienischen Molise-Region hinterließ, lassen sich direkt hier unten bestaunen. The one and only BLU just unveiled a brand new and great street painting on the streets of Campobasso for the latest edition of the always excellent Draw The Line Festival. “La Cuccagna”, this title of the work shows Blu creating one of his personal criticism of our society and our modern life system. BLU proposes a strong representation of the systems that move modern society which are triggering an incredible narrative sequence, full of problems and different issues hidden within the first layer. At the top, a carousel made of gold and filled with money and various luxury-type of items. The structure is controlled by the government which is filtering the common people. Down below, we have a true representation of how the carousel moves. Slaves are used by the same government for the carousel aka the society to turn on itself. Deep underground, the rejects, the waste and the pollution is appearing as a result of the carousel’s movement and appearance.
