Das Kollabo Album von Ghostface Killah und Adrian Younge “Twelve Reasons To Die” erscheint endlich am 16.04.2013. Es sind über die letzen Wochen nun mehrere Special Editions aufgetaucht u.a. bei Bandcamp und eine “12 Delucas” Deluxe Edition bei den Jungs von Get On Down. T-Shirts, eigener Comic, blutiges Vinyl alles dabei. Um dem Ganzen die Krone aufzusetzen liegt beiden Versionen eine Kassette bei, auf dem sich ein komplettes Remix Album befindet, welches von Apollo Brown produziert wurde. Da führt für den Wu-Tang Fan einfach kein Weg dran vorbei. Zumal Ghostface immer noch am besten diesen alten Wu-Flavour transportiert. Jetzt muss ich nur noch einen Weg finden an dieses Tape zu kommen. Wo bekommt man nochmal einen Kassettenrecorder? Es gibt Tapes die man erst zwei, dreimal hören muss, bis sie einen überzeugen, bei anderen wiederum ist vom ersten Ton an klar, das es sich um einen Knaller handelt. “One Man Band” von K-Def lässt da erst gar keine Zweifel aufkommen. Bekannt als “Producer’s producer” nimmt sich K-Def bekannte Stücke von A Tribe Called Quest, Wu Tang oder aber auch Stevie Wonder vor und verpasst diesen einen neuen Anstrich ohne den Vibe des Originals zu verändern. NEW WU-SHIT! Ich bin so aufgeregt, es gibt neues vom Chef! Schon länger hörte ich Gerüchte, dass Rae als Überbrückung bis zum Erscheinen seines neuen Longplayers “F.I.L.A. (Fly International Luxurious Art)” eine Free EP veröffentlichen würde – und hier ist das Ding. “Lost Jewlry” heisst das Werk, welches ab sofort für längere Zeit bei mir im Auto gespielt wird. Ich drehe hier gerade so ein ganz kleines bißchen frei: hier ist der Album-Stream vom Soundtrack zu “The Man With The Iron Fists”, dem Regie-Debüt von Wu-Tang Mastermind RZA (presented by Quentin Tarantino), der hierzulande am 29. November in die Kinos kommt. Mal abgesehen davon, dass ich ohnehin schon Riesenbock auf den Film habe – die Tracklist (s.u.) haut mich gerade wirklich vom Sessel. Offiziell erscheint der Soundtrack nächsten Montag (22.10.2012), hier habt Ihr aber schonmal den Stream – und zwar das “Deluxe Ultra Pak”, 70 Songs auf 5 CDs. Super interessanter Beitrag der Avant/Garde Diaries-Serie, diesmal geht es um Oliver “Power” Grant, der den meisten von Euch sicherlich als Executive Producer des Wu-Tang Clans bekannt sein dürfte, außerdem ist er der Founder von “Wu-Wear” (einer Brand, von der ich immerhin ein T-Shirt habe). Er sinniert in diesem Clip ein wenig über einen nicht unwichtigen Aspekt jeder Avantgarde, nämlich dem komplexen Innenleben eines kreativen Kollektivs – wie beispielsweise dem Wu-Tang Clan. Ich wäre zu gerne dabei gewesen, als RZA, GZA, Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface, Inspectah Deck, Ol’ Dirty Bastard und Masta Killah (ohne nachzugucken, das weiß man einfach!) die “36 Chambers” oder “Forever” produzierten und wie man so hörte, war es für das Management nicht immer leicht, die Brüder zusammenzuhalten. Grant sagen einen besonders schönen Satz, “One person is just flat, but from one comes many, from many comes one. The pieces need to click together to unlock the door, and behind the door is the magic.” – peep game:
